About Eric Church
Over the last six years, singer Eric Church has made a name for himself in the country music industry. Kenneth Eric Church was born on May 3, 1977 in Granite Falls, North Carolina. Church's early years were similar to many others who grew up in the United States. He had a strong interest in music and bought his first guitar at age 13. He also began composing songs as a young teen. By the time he was a senior in high school, Church had gained some attention locally for his music, and he stayed busy playing gigs at local bars.
Church attended Appalachian State University after graduating from South Caldwell High School. During his college years, Church earned his degree in marketing. He also started a band called Mountain Boys with his brother, college roommate Mark Snow and a guitarist. Church's music career really took off after college when he moved to Nashville. In 2006, he was signed by Capitol Nashville Records, and he began preparing his first album. Church released "Sinners Like Me" later that year, and the album found immediate success. The tracks "How 'Bout You," "Two Pink Lines" and "Guys Like Me" all became Top 20 hits. In April 2006, Church fulfilled one of his country music dreams by performing on the Grand Ole Opry. These successes lead to a touring deal with Rascal Flatts and Brad Paisley.
From 2009-2011, Church released two more successful albums. Both "Carolina" and "Chief" reached Gold status in the United States. As Church's success increased, he was offered more touring opportunities. He has toured with Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Josh Kelley and other big names in country music.
