About American Idol Live
American Idol has been one of the top shows in the world for the past 11 seasons. The show debuted on June 11, 2002 on Fox. It was modeled after the British hit Pop Idol. American Idol has enjoyed tremendous success as one of the most popular shows in the history of American television. In fact, it is the only show to have the most TV viewership for eight consecutive seasons.

Since American Idol is an audition-based reality show, the fate of the contestants is decided by the judges and viewers. The judges choose the contestants during the audition process. After each show, TV viewers vote via phone or Internet for their favorite contestants. Each week, contestants are eliminated from the show based on fan votes.
Each American Idol season has been filled with incredible talent and a few surprises, and Season 11 was no exception.
